Plagiarism Policy
PLAGIARISM can manifest in two ways: 1) the author(s) intentionally copies the work of another individual and asserts it as their own, or 2) the author(s) copies their own previously published material, either in full or in part, without providing appropriate references, a practice known as "self-plagiarism" or "duplicate publication."
Plagiarism before publication
The Indonesian Journal of Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Technology (MARCOPOLO) will evaluate each instance of plagiarism on its own merits. In the event that plagiarism is identified by the editors, peer reviewers, or editorial staff at any point prior to the publication of a manuscript, including before or after acceptance, during editing, or at the page proof stage, we will notify the author(s) and request that they either rewrite the text or quote it precisely, while also citing the original source accordingly. The article may be rejected and the author's institution/employer may be notified if the plagiarism is extensive, meaning that at least 20% of the original submission is plagiarized.
When is the plagiarism check conducted?
A plagiarism check is conducted on each manuscript that is submitted for publication to any journal published by the Indonesian Journal of Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Technology (MARCOPOLO) prior to its submission to an editor for editorial review.
How is a plagiarism check done?
PlagScan Software and Turnitin are employed by the Indonesian Journal of Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Technology (MARCOPOLO) to identify instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts.PlagScan is a web service that is wholly browser-based and is used to verify the authenticity of documents.
Plagiarism
The manuscript may not be readily accessible to article indexing services due to restrictions imposed by programmers, journals, or publishers. Alternatively, it may be available on the journal website but has not yet been indexed by article indexing services. In such instances, the content of the manuscript being investigated cannot be compared to the original manuscript due to restrictions, and plagiarism will not be identified during the plagiarism check.
Declaration of Plagiarism
The plagiarism-free statement is a mandatory requirement for all authors in the Indonesian Journal of Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Technology (MARCOPOLO). Additionally, the manuscript was submitted by uploading supplementary files to the Open Journal System.
Please download the plagiarism declaration and submit it in conjunction with the manuscript via OJS or by emailing admin@formosapublisher.org.
