Positive and Negative Impacts of Evaluation on Madrasah Management Operations in Educational Units

Abstract

Operational evaluation of madrasah management is a crucial process in ensuring the effectiveness of education delivery in Islamic educational institutions. Objective and contextual evaluation can be a tool for quality improvement, but if conducted rigidly and without empathy, it can negatively impact the continuity of madrasah operations. This article examines the positive and negative impacts of implementing madrasah management evaluation and offers solutions based on a reflective and collaborative approach. This research uses a literature review method with descriptive-critical analysis. The results indicate that positive impacts of evaluation include increased accountability, managerial efficiency, and strengthening institutional quality. Meanwhile, negative impacts include psychological stress, institutional stigmatization, and policy inequalities. Therefore, madrasah evaluation needs to be conducted with a humanistic, professional, and local context-based approach.
